Speaker of the House of Representatives Mazen Al-Qadi met with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas in Athens on Wednesday, as part of an official visit at the invitation of his Greek counterpart, affirming the depth of the relations between the two countries and the commitment to strengthening and developing them across various fields, particularly parliamentary cooperation.

During the meeting, at which Al-Qadi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the Greek president, Tasoulas affirmed the strength of the relations between the two countries and expressed great appreciation for the King's efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
Tasoulas emphasized Greece's continued support for strengthening relations between the European Union and Jordan, stressing the special importance his country attaches to parliamentary diplomacy in deepening bilateral ties and developing areas of joint cooperation.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, the Greek president affirmed his country's support for shaping a political process leading to a two-state solution that guarantees lasting peace, security, and prosperity.
The Greek president stressed the importance of preserving the status quo at the holy sites, affirming his country's appreciation for the historic role of His Majesty King Abdullah II as custodian of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
For his part, Al-Qadi affirmed that relations between Jordan and Greece are built on solid foundations of friendship, mutual respect, cooperation, and ongoing coordination, noting both countries' keenness to continue communication and consultation on various issues of shared interest.
Al-Qadi noted that bilateral relations have seen notable progress and cooperation in recent years, affirming that there are broad opportunities to build new partnerships between the two countries across various fields, opening prospects for a comprehensive future partnership that would benefit both countries and their friendly peoples.
Al-Qadi stressed the importance of strengthening parliamentary diplomacy as a key pillar of Jordanian-Greek relations, through intensifying mutual visits, exchanging expertise and experience, establishing joint parliamentary committees to discuss issues of shared interest, and coordinating positions in international parliamentary forums.
He expressed great appreciation for Greece's supportive positions on the two-state solution and the Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
