Jordan Welcomes U.S. Decision to Remove Syria from State Sponsors of Terrorism List

Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the United States’ decision to remove Syria from its list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali welcomed the decision, stressing that it represents an important step toward supporting the Syrian Arab Republic’s reconstruction efforts, advancing its recovery and helping fulfill the Syrian people’s aspirations for development and prosperity.

Al-Majali also said Jordan appreciates the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump in reaching the decision.

He reiterated Jordan’s firm position in supporting Syria’s reconstruction on foundations that safeguard its unity, sovereignty, security, stability and territorial integrity, while protecting the rights of all Syrians.
