King Returns Home After State Visit to China
His Majesty King Abdullah II returned to Jordan on Tuesday following a state visit to China.

At the conclusion of his visit, King Abdullah said his meetings in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen provided important opportunities to strengthen the strategic partnership between Jordan and China and expand cooperation in vital economic sectors.

In a post on X, the King expressed his gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Chinese government and people for their warm hospitality, stressing the importance of building on the outcomes of the meetings, agreements and memoranda of understanding signed during the visit in ways that benefit both countries and peoples.

King Abdullah also invited President Xi Jinping to visit Jordan at a mutually agreed time.

During the visit, King Abdullah and President Xi held talks in Beijing on prospects for developing the strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as the latest regional and international developments.

The King affirmed Jordan’s keenness to expand cooperation with China across a range of fields, noting that his visit to Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen included fruitful discussions on opportunities to deepen economic cooperation in key sectors, including agriculture, pharmaceutical, food and engineering industries, tourism, education and culture.

King Abdullah said the signing of cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding between Jordan and China demonstrated the two countries’ shared determination to continue building on their strong bilateral relations.

President Xi, for his part, said relations between China and Jordan are based on mutual respect, cooperation and shared understanding.

The two countries issued a joint statement following the talks between King Abdullah II and President Xi Jinping.
