Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), they noted that choosing Jordan to host offices for global companies stems from its status as one of the region's promising markets. It boasts qualified technical talent, an advanced business environment, and a strategic location linking the Levant and Gulf markets, alongside the availability of skilled human resources in the fields of IT, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

The representative of the Communications and Information Technology sector at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Eng. Haitham Al-Rawajbeh, stated that Jordan has cemented its standing lately as an attractive destination for regional and international corporations seeking to set up regional headquarters. He explained that stability and reliability represent key attractions, as Jordan provides a business environment capable of supporting long-term planning despite the political and economic challenges facing the region.

He added that the Kingdom has maintained its capacity to attract foreign investments, with foreign direct investment (FDI) reaching approximately $1.6 billion in 2024, while the national economy grew by 2.5 percent.

He pointed out that the Kingdom's geographic location grants it a significant competitive edge, sitting at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, and Europe. Furthermore, it possesses an advanced network of air, land, and sea connectivity, including three international airports and services provided by more than 40 international airlines, making it an ideal base for managing regional operations, sales, technical support, and logistics.

Al-Rawajbeh explained that global companies do not view Jordan merely as a local market, but rather as a gateway to expansive regional and international markets. This is thanks to a network of trade agreements that grant access to around 1.6 billion consumers, alongside bilateral investment treaties, double taxation avoidance agreements, and the Kingdom's membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO).

He emphasized that human capital is one of Jordan's greatest strengths, as the country boasts qualified young professionals fluent in both Arabic and English, meeting corporate needs in customer service, technical support, software development, management, and financial operations.

He noted that the Kingdom's legislative and investment environment offers advanced guarantees for investors. The Investment Environment Law ensures equality between Jordanian and non-Jordanian investors, protects investments, and enhances the principles of transparency and justice. This comes alongside an incentive package that includes tax exemptions, customs facilities, and additional benefits in development and free zones, as well as priority sectors.

He explained that the communications and IT sector is one of the most prominent magnets for investment, thanks to the availability of engineering and academic talent. Graduates in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields make up about 22 percent of total graduates. Additionally, there are over 45,000 specialized professionals working in local, regional, and global companies, supported by an advanced digital infrastructure and a wide penetration of internet services.

He added that one of the clearest examples of growing confidence in the Jordanian market is the global company "Zoho" opening a regional office in the capital, Amman, to provide sales, marketing, partner support, customer service, and local and regional support for the "Zoho" and "ManageEngine" brands. Al-Rawajbeh emphasized that major international organizations choosing Jordan as a regional operations hub reflects confidence in the Jordanian business environment. He pointed out the expansion of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) office in Amman to become a regional hub serving 15 countries across the Middle East, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, alongside the role played by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Regional Hub in providing strategic and programmatic support to countries in the region, thereby bolstering Amman's status as a regional center for business, expertise, and partnerships.

For his part, Prem Velayudham, Associate Director of Strategic Alliances at Zoho for the Middle East and Africa, said that choosing Jordan as a base for the company's regional office was driven by its standing as a promising market with highly qualified technical talents, an advanced business environment, and a strategic location linking the Levant and Gulf markets.

He explained that the company's investment in Jordan is not limited to geographical expansion, but includes investing in local talent and building long-term partnerships with companies and institutions. He noted that the company has witnessed increasing interest from Jordanian organizations in digital transformation and adopting cloud solutions, aligning with Zoho's vision of empowering businesses of all sizes through flexible, secure, and affordable tech solutions.

He stressed that the company's presence in Jordan will bring it closer to its clients and partners, enabling it to offer localized support tailored to market needs.

Velayudham pointed out that Jordan possesses one of the most mature IT sectors in the region, backed by qualified human talent and an educational system that feeds the market with graduates possessing advanced technical skills, alongside a continuously growing entrepreneurship ecosystem. He stated that Jordan has the right ingredients to be a hub for digital solution development and innovation, especially in light of the growing interest from both the public and private sectors in accelerating digital transformation.

He added that Zoho looks forward to contributing to this growth by collaborating with local partners and providing solutions and technologies that help organizations raise operational efficiency and enhance competitiveness.

It is worth noting that Zoho is a global company specializing in cloud software development, offering more than 55 integrated applications covering various business needs, including customer relationship management (CRM), human resources, financial systems, collaboration, project management, and AI solutions. It serves over 130 million users worldwide, focusing on innovation, customer privacy protection, and delivering sustainable value.

Zoho is working on building a long-term presence by employing Jordanian talent in fields such as sales, business development, customer support, and partnership management, alongside expanding collaboration with technical partners and academic institutions. He emphasized that investing in Jordanian talents will support the company's regional operations and provide new opportunities for youth to work in the global technology sector.

In turn, Dr. Ahmad Musleh, Director of Training at Green Circle, stressed that Jordan possesses a strong base of graduates and professionals capable of delivering advanced technical services to local, regional, and international markets. He added that the company views the Kingdom as an ideal regional platform for developing and exporting digital solutions, particularly amid the growing interest in digital transformation, strengthening cybersecurity, and building the technical capacities of institutions.

He explained that Green Circle—a Jordanian company specialized in cybersecurity solutions, technical training, digital transformation, and AI applications—provides advisory and technical services to organizations, alongside practical training programs designed to qualify young talent and connect them with actual job market demands, working to provide applied technical and training solutions that help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical experience.

He continued that the company focuses on fields like Security Operations Centers (SOC), penetration testing, governance, risk management and compliance (GRC), artificial intelligence, and specialized vocational training. It also implements initiatives that contribute to empowering fresh graduates and equipping them with the necessary practical expertise.

On his part, Wa'ed Al-Hawamdeh, Regional Director in Jordan and Saudi Arabia for "Concentrix"—a company specializing in technology and services—confirmed that choosing the Kingdom as a home for the company's regional office stems from its strategic location. This position makes it a primary point of contact between the Middle East and North Africa markets, extending to serve European and North American markets, which provides an ideal platform for managing regional and international operations.

He said that Jordan is characterized by economic and legislative stability, and a supportive investment environment that provides the necessary legal frameworks and incentives for the growth of global companies, especially in the technology and services sectors. This is paired with the availability of qualified human cadres, as the country boasts a high percentage of graduates specializing in IT, engineering, and business administration, as well as language proficiency, particularly in English, which enhances companies' ability to deliver high-quality services to regional and global markets.

He added that Jordanian human capital was the most prominent factor in Concentrix's decision to establish operations in the Kingdom, thanks to young Jordanian talents who stand out for their high skills and ability to work according to the best international standards. Since the launch of the company's operations in the country, this has enabled Jordan to solidify its position as a regional hub serving multiple markets and providing a stimulating environment for growth, innovation, and sustainable expansion.

Regarding the communications and IT sector, he said that the sector is undergoing an advanced stage of maturity and development, driven by the Economic Modernization Vision and the accelerating pace of digital transformation. This has made Jordan one of the region's top countries in terms of tech talent availability and innovation capacity, contributing to building a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem that has produced numerous digital and software solutions serving local and regional markets.

He pointed out that the sector enjoys an advanced infrastructure, including the expansion of 5G networks, modern data centers, cloud computing solutions, and cybersecurity, alongside a supportive regulatory environment led by government bodies, foremost among them the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. This fosters innovation and encourages the adoption of modern technologies, primarily artificial intelligence and fintech.

He stressed that continuing to invest in developing the digital skills of the youth—keeping pace with rapid global advancements in IT and AI—alongside strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors, will anchor Jordan's position as a leading regional hub for tech services and digital transformation, increasing its capacity to attract more investments and global corporations.

He explained that Concentrix is a leading global company in technology and services, helping top brands worldwide build exceptional customer experiences and accelerate digital transformation through innovative solutions driven by technology, AI, and human expertise.

He added that since starting its operations in Jordan, the company has become one of the most prominent employers in the business services and outsourcing sector. Through its two branches in Amman and Irbid, it provides thousands of job opportunities for Jordanian youth in areas including customer service, content moderation, technical support, data analytics, human resources, IT, management, and leadership, contributing to sharpening the skills of employees and preparing them for the job market.

Al-Hawamdeh indicated that the company continues to invest in developing its human resources through specialized training programs, clear career development paths, and a diverse and inclusive work environment, contributing to preparing Jordanian talents capable of competing in global job markets. — (Petra)
