AMMAN —
Head of the Free Zones Investors Association Mohammad Al-Bustanji said on
Sunday that electrical cars are more economical than gasoline cars, and that
the market needs to be reorganized, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
Bustanji added that
Jordan is one of the first Arab countries to introduce electric cars, and that
the world is heading toward using electric cars.
At the same time, he
said that that 87 percent to 90 percent of the cars that enter the local market
are from the free zones, adding that 11,700 electric vehicles have been cleared
since the beginning of the year until the end of last month.
Member of the administrative board of the administrative
board of the Association Jordanian Car Agents and distributors Muhannad Tahboub
said that “Jordan’s market is not regulated when it comes to the trade of
electric cars.”
