The National Center for Curriculum Development (NCCD) underscored the importance of promoting awareness regarding the safe and responsible use of digital content. This comes in light of warnings issued by the Public Security Directorate concerning certain electronic games that may appear appropriate on the surface but contain unsuitable content for children and adolescents, potentially leading to negative psychological and behavioral effects.

The Center stated that this approach aligns with its national role in keeping pace with emerging challenges students face in educational and digital environments. These issues are being addressed pedagogically within the national curricula to enhance digital literacy and responsible behavior, fostering students' ability to engage with technology in a safe and balanced manner. This also integrates with the "Digital Skills" subject launched by the center as part of a comprehensive educational development plan for grades 1 through 12.
The NCCD highlighted that concepts such as Digital Safety, Digital Citizenship, Digital Health, and Digital Rights and Responsibilities are core components of the educational trends linked to the Digital Skills curriculum. Furthermore, the curricula tackle these issues from psychological and social perspectives; the Psychology and Sociology subjects address the impacts of imbalanced technology use, such as social isolation and addictive behavior, reflecting a holistic educational approach.
The Center emphasized that its educational responsibility extends beyond academic knowledge to include keeping up with digital transformations affecting students. It stressed that confronting these challenges requires an integration of roles between the family, the school, and national institutions. This involves conscious monitoring of what is presented to children, verifying age-appropriateness, and fostering dialogue about safe digital usage to ensure a more secure and aware learning environment.
