Prime Minister Jafar Hassan inspected Ar-Ramtha Governmental Hospital on Tuesday, directing the maintenance of its facilities and departments, as well as supplying it with necessary medical equipment and personnel.
Hassan also directed the initiation of the necessary technical studies to explore the possibility of constructing an additional floor for operating rooms and intensive care units (ICU) at the hospital.
Ar-Ramtha Governmental Hospital serves over 250,000 citizens and provides training for medical and nursing students from several universities.
Additionally, Hassan stressed the need to expedite the rehabilitation of "Al-Arba'een Road," which connects the city of Ar-Ramtha to adjacent areas. A total of JOD 2 million was allocated for its rehabilitation during the Cabinet meeting held last May in Irbid Governorate.
He also emphasized the completion of the rehabilitation works for the Ar-Ramtha–Jaber Road, which links the Ar-Ramtha District with Mafraq Governorate, along with installing street lighting and necessary traffic safety requirements.
Ar-Ramtha Youth Center
Hassan also visited the Ar-Ramtha Youth Center for Young Men and Women, emphasizing the importance of the new training programs introduced last year in sports, educational, and artistic fields to serve youth center visitors. These programs were expanded this year to cover 60 centers and are set to reach 100 centers next year.
Hassan stressed the necessity for these programs to benefit trainees and serve as an opportunity to discover and nurture talents across various fields.
The new youth center programs include specialized English language skills courses aimed at enhancing job opportunities for young people in the labor market.
The Prime Minister directed the development of the infrastructure at the Ar-Ramtha Youth Center, provision of necessary requirements, and upgrading of the computer lab to sustain youth activities and programs and expand services to beneficiaries.
Ar-Ramtha Vocational Training
Hassan was also briefed on the training programs offered by the Ar-Ramtha Vocational Training Institute, stressing the need to develop comprehensive programs across all vocational training institutes in the Kingdom to equip beneficiaries with skills required by the labor market. He also highlighted the necessity of providing concessionary financing and in-kind grants—including tools and supplies—for graduates to start their small enterprises upon completing their training.
The Prime Minister directed the establishment of modern training workshops for specific specializations at the Ar-Ramtha Vocational Training Institute to meet labor market needs, as well as upgrading the computer lab at the institute, which currently enrolls over 140 trainees.
