The Ministry of Agriculture announced on Tuesday a decision to suspend the export of live sheep to neighboring countries, in order to ensure sufficient supplies of red meat for the local market, maintain price stability, and secure adequate quantities for citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.

In the same context, the ministry stated that new sources have been opened for the import of live animals, including sheep and calves. It also approved additional slaughterhouses for importing meat in its various forms, from accredited sources that meet health and veterinary standards.
