The Israeli occupation forces issued a military order seizing 5,283 dunams of land belonging to Palestinian citizens in the town of Jabaa, north of occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext of "military purposes."

According to Israeli Military Order No. (30/26/T), the decision covers a parcel of land extending 725 meters in the areas of Al-Mantar, Ra’s Al-Marj, and Sha’ab Al-Ghazool. The seizure order is set to remain in effect until December 31, 2028.
The Jerusalem Governorate explained in a statement on Tuesday that the decision comes within the context of plans to construct a settlement bypass road extending from Route 60 near the Jabaa checkpoint to the annexation wall adjacent to the "Neve Yaakov" settlement built on Palestinian land.
The governorate emphasized that military seizure orders serve as a tool to impose new facts on the ground through the control of Palestinian land and the expansion of the settlement road network, thereby exacerbating the isolation of Palestinian communities from their geographic surrounding.
It stressed that settlement road projects are not merely intended for what the occupation claims as military and other purposes, but are tied to de facto annexation plans aimed at connecting settlements with occupied Jerusalem at the expense of Palestinian land.
