The Assistant for Administration and Manpower added that the Jordanian Armed Forces views gender mainstreaming as an essential component of the comprehensive institutional development process. This approach ensures the optimal utilization of human talents and capabilities, while enhancing readiness, effectiveness, and excellence in performance, in line with its national vision and mission.
For his part, the Representative of UN Women in Jordan, Mr. Nicolas Burniat, stressed that the Jordanian Armed Forces has demonstrated a sustainable institutional commitment to advancing gender responsiveness. He commended the role of the Jordanian Armed Forces and the Directorate of Military Women’s Affairs in anchoring and promoting this approach as an institutional priority.
The attendees listened to a briefing presented by the Head of the Gender Mainstreaming Section at the Directorate of Military Women’s Affairs, Lieutenant Colonel Bara'a Abu Qaoud, regarding the strategy's pillars and objectives. The Second Strategy for Gender Mainstreaming aims to build upon the achievements accomplished during the previous phase by providing a clear, actionable roadmap to translate the vision of the Jordanian Armed Forces in this field into practical programs and initiatives. This will enhance the role of military women and ensure the optimal utilization of their capabilities and potential across various fields of military work.
