Aqaba on track to receive Saudi cruises in August — PDTRA

AMMAN — Suleiman Al-Farajat, chief commissioner of the Petra Development and Tourism Regional Authority, on Thursday said that Jordan is on schedule to host cruise ships from Saudi Arabia. The ships will be carrying tourists looking to visit Aqaba, Petra, and Wadi Rum, according to the commissioner. He added that the ships will start arriving in Aqaba gradually during the month of August, according to Al-Ghad news. Farajat also said that the authority has finished Eid Al-Adha at archaeological sites. The Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) last week said it plans to launch a line of cruise ships for the first time connecting the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah, Jordan’s Aqaba, and Egypt within two weeks. The ships will be carrying tourists looking to visit Aqaba, Petra, and Wadi Rum, according to the commissioner. He added that the ships will start arriving in Aqaba gradually during the month of August, according to Al-Ghad news.
Farajat also said that the authority has finished Eid Al-Adha at archaeological sites.
