1,454 new COVID-19 cases, 16 new deaths

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 1,454 new COVID-19 cases and 16 new deaths Friday, bringing the total death toll to 11,016 and the total number of cases to 859,796.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 505 cases, while Zarqa recorded 152 cases. Irbid registered 374 cases, Balqa 96 cases, Karak recorded 34, Jerash recorded 35 cases, and Tafileh recorded 4. Madaba registered 57 cases, Aqaba 70, and Ajloun 55.

The ministry said in a statement that around 72 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 74 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 20,252 according to the ministry. Around 4.63 percent of the 31,398 COVID-19 tests conducted Friday came back positive.
