Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced Wednesday that the ministers of justice and energy have submitted their resignations amid a major corruption scandal in the country, shortly after President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that it was no longer possible for them to remain in office.

“The two ministers have submitted their resignations in accordance with the law,” Svyrydenko wrote on social media.
According to the country’s anti-corruption prosecutor’s office, Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko is accused of having received “personal benefits” in connection with a $100 million bribery case in the energy sector, which he oversaw as minister until July 2025. Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk, for her part, maintained that she had not violated any laws.
