EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated that the ongoing war in the Middle East is diverting international and European attention away from the situations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, at a time when the humanitarian and political conditions are rapidly deteriorating.اضافة اعلان

Kallas explained that during their meeting, EU foreign ministers raised concerns that this shift in global focus is being exploited to obstruct the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, noting that the second phase of the peace plan for the Strip is "completely stalled."

Regarding the West Bank, she added that the situation is worsening due to the escalation of settler violence, including killings without accountability, which she described as a "very major problem."

Furthermore, Kallas confirmed that there is a trend within the European Union to impose sanctions on violent settlers, noting that 26 member states support this path, while one single country is blocking the decision.

She stressed the necessity of maintaining international focus on the situation in the Palestinian territories and not allowing the current war between the United States and Israel against Iran to overshadow it. She also emphasized the critical importance of improving humanitarian access and achieving de-escalation.
