Russia: 9 Tourists Die as Bus Sinks in Siberian Lake

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on Friday that at least nine tourists died when their bus sank in Lake Baikal in Siberia, in the far east of the country. The Russian Investigative Committee has opened an inquiry into the incident.اضافة اعلان

The ministry stated in a press release that the bus passengers were foreign tourists, in addition to the driver, and all those missing were confirmed dead. According to preliminary information, the ice crossing on Lake Baikal had fully collapsed, while authorities continue recovery operations to retrieve the bodies of the tourists.
