British police said Tuesday they had re-arrested two men suspected of assisting a foreign intelligence service as part of an investigation into an incident at Royal Air Force Fairford last month.

The Counter Terrorism Policing unit said in a statement that it had re-arrested a 24-year-old British man and a 25-year-old man who holds both British and Iranian citizenship.
The country at the center of the investigation is Iran, according to Reuters.
U.S. bombers have previously used RAF Fairford to conduct strikes against Iran. However, the B-1 aircraft were withdrawn shortly after five British nationals were arrested outside the military base in southwest England in the early hours of September 27.
Police later arrested two more men but released all seven on bail. The counter-terrorism unit said Tuesday that two of the suspects had been re-arrested under the National Security Act.
Police said the 24-year-old British man had previously been arrested outside RAF Fairford.
They also re-arrested a 25-year-old dual British-Iranian national who had previously been detained in London.
Lawrence Taylor, head of the UK's national counter-terrorism policing, said in a statement: “The investigation remains extremely active, and we continue to gather evidence.”
“However, our position at this stage has not changed. We believe it is highly likely that the Iranian state is involved in this matter.”
British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said last week that the activities at RAF Fairford were likely to have been coordinated from inside Iran.
Iran’s ambassador to Britain denied the allegation.
Taylor said: “We know the public has questions that remain unanswered. I want to be as transparent as possible, and when we are in a position to share more information, we will do so.”
