In a statement following renewed heavy clashes with the SDF in these northern Aleppo districts, the command said: “All military sites of the SDF within Sheikh Maqsoud and Al-Ashrafieh are legitimate targets for the Syrian Arab Army, following the organization’s major escalation toward Aleppo neighborhoods and the commission of multiple massacres against civilians.”

The statement urged civilians in these neighborhoods to immediately stay away from SDF positions.

Two humanitarian corridors, Al-Award and Al-Zuhur Street, were announced safe for civilians until 3:00 p.m. local time.

The army also declared that Sheikh Maqsoud and Al-Ashrafieh would become closed military zones after 3:00 p.m., imposing a full curfew and reiterating the call for civilians to avoid SDF positions.

According to SANA reporters, civilians continued to flee Sheikh Maqsoud due to SDF escalations, with Syrian Arab Army and internal security forces working to secure their safe passage. Soldiers are assisting civilians from Sheikh Maqsoud and Al-Ashrafieh to reach safer areas amid the ongoing SDF aggression.

Clashes resumed on Tuesday evening between the Syrian Army and SDF in northern Aleppo neighborhoods, featuring mutual shelling and the use of drones. The Syrian news agency reported that the SDF deployed drones to monitor movements around Al-Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud, while both sides accused each other of targeting residential areas.
