According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, held a phone call with Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, during which they discussed the latest developments in the region and their repercussions on regional security and stability.

The agency added that the two sides also stressed during the call that the continued Iranian attacks on the GCC countries constitute a serious escalation threatening the region’s security and stability, affirming that the council’s member states will continue to make every effort to defend their territories and provide all available capabilities to support regional security and preserve stability.

Israel and the United States have been carrying out airstrikes on Iran since Saturday, February 28, which led to the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Since then, Tehran has responded by launching missiles and drones targeting Israel and countries in the region.
