Lebanon’s Ministry of Health reported that three people were killed and 16 others injured as a result of Israeli airstrikes targeting the town of Nabi Sheet in the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon.
Later, the ministry announced an updated, non-final toll, stating that nine people were killed and 17 others injured following the Israeli strikes on the town located in the Baalbek district, while rescue teams continue searching for missing persons beneath the rubble.
Lebanese media reported early Saturday that an Israeli airborne landing operation took place in the Nabi Sheet area in eastern Lebanon, accompanied by heavy gunfire in the area.
Local media also reported intensive flights by Israeli warplanes over the Bekaa Valley, in addition to heavy gunfire in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Media reports indicated that clashes broke out between Hezbollah’s Radwan Force and the Israeli army in the town of Khiam in southern Lebanon.
On Friday, the Israeli military announced the start of an additional wave of attacks in Beirut, stating that it was targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in the southern suburbs.
Israeli airstrikes late Thursday caused widespread destruction in Beirut’s southern suburbs, following an unprecedented Israeli warning urging residents to evacuate. The Israeli military said it had targeted and destroyed Hezbollah facilities.
