The Israeli occupation army stated on Monday that there is no reason to launch a ground invasion of Lebanon "in the near future," following strikes carried out by Hezbollah on the northern occupied territories. This comes despite reports from the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, citing an army spokesperson, stating that Israel is "considering" a ground entry into Lebanon.

When asked by reporters whether Israel would invade Lebanese territory, military spokesperson Nadav Shoshani replied: "There is nothing on the ground that justifies launching a ground attack... in the near future."
He added: "In the short term, right now, the answer is no."
