Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun affirmed on Tuesday that the Cabinet's decision to restrict the authority over war and peace exclusively to the Lebanese State, and to prohibit all unlawful military and security activities, is a "sovereign and final decision that is irreversible."

Speaking before members of the Quintet Committee, Aoun stated that the Cabinet has tasked the Army and security forces with implementing this mandate across all Lebanese territories.
The President urged the countries of the Quintet Committee to pressure Israel to cease its aggressions against Lebanon. He reaffirmed Lebanon’s "full and final commitment" to the cessation of hostilities to preserve peace and stability, expressing total readiness to resume negotiations under international auspices and with civilian participation.
Support from the Quintet Committee
President Aoun noted that Lebanon relies heavily on the support of the Quintet Committee—which includes Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United States, and France. He credited the committee with playing a fundamental role in halting security deterioration, ending the presidential vacuum, and supporting the restoration of constitutional institutions.
Field Developments and the Litani Region
Regarding recent incidents, the President clarified that the rocket fire toward the occupied territories originated from outside the South Litani region. He emphasized that the Lebanese Army is fully deployed in that sector and continues to perform its duties across all regions of the country.
