A Lebanese security source told Petra’s correspondent in Beirut that intense airstrikes also targeted the city of Nabatieh at dawn, coinciding with armed clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces near the outskirts of the border town of Bint Jbeil.

The Lebanese Red Cross said in a statement that on Saturday evening, while carrying out a humanitarian mission on a road near the town of Beit Yahoun in the Bint Jbeil district, one of its teams was directly targeted by an Israeli drone. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of paramedic Hassan Badawi and the injury of another paramedic, who was transferred to Tebnine Governmental Hospital.

The statement noted that prior coordination had been conducted with UNIFIL to ensure protection and a safe route for the mission.

The Lebanese Red Cross expressed deep concern over the repeated targeting of its medical teams, emphasizing that its ambulances and personnel were clearly marked with Red Cross insignia and illuminated, in accordance with standard procedures during missions in border areas.

It strongly condemned the attack, stressing that its teams operate under humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality, independence, and humanity, and described the incident as a clear and ongoing violation of international humanitarian law.
