Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed that Hamas’s response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan for a ceasefire in Gaza represents “a constructive and important step toward achieving lasting peace.”

Erdogan said on Saturday: “What must be done now is for Israel to immediately halt all its attacks and adhere to the ceasefire plan,” emphasizing the urgent need to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and alleviate the suffering of its residents.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Hamas’s response, noting that it “opens the door to accelerating an immediate ceasefire, ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid, and achieving long-term peace,” and called on all parties to begin direct negotiations to stabilize the truce.
The ministry added that “Hamas’s response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan allows for the possibility of swiftly establishing a ceasefire in Gaza, guaranteeing humanitarian aid, and achieving lasting peace.”
It also stressed that Israel must immediately halt its attacks against Gaza’s population and urged all parties to promptly engage in negotiations to solidify the ceasefire. –Agencies
