Around 10,000 Israeli settlers performed religious rituals at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron on Tuesday, joined by rabbis Shmuel Eliyahu and Yitzhak Schwartz and Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
In Jerusalem, hundreds of settlers entered Al-Aqsa Mosque through the Moroccan Gate under heavy protection from Israeli forces. They performed Jewish rituals and prayers, while also singing collectively and applauding.
The Jerusalem Governorate said the incursions took place on the fourth day of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, noting that the settlers carried out their rituals in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa under Israeli police protection.
The governorate said settlers assaulted and dragged Palestinians in the Bab al-Amud area and posted footage documenting the attacks on social media.
The incursions coincided with tightened Israeli military measures around Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, including restrictions on worshippers’ access and movement.
September has witnessed repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, the latest taking place on Monday, involving 1,731 settlers.
According to figures from the Jerusalem Governorate, more than 40,661 settlers have entered Al-Aqsa Mosque since the beginning of the year through the end of August 2026. The number of orders barring Jerusalem residents from entering the mosque has reached around 800 since the start of the year through early September.
Incursions in Ramallah
Large numbers of settlers entered the town of Beitunia and the Jiryut Roundabout west of Ramallah on Tuesday under the protection of Israeli forces. They attacked passing vehicles and threw stones at some of them.
The settlers gathered at the Jiryut Roundabout and raised Israeli flags ahead of performing Jewish prayers at Ein Jiryut, while Israeli soldiers opened fire in the area.
Palestinian towns and villages have been subjected to repeated attacks by Israeli forces and settlers, including the demolition of homes and structures, land seizures, tree uprooting, and attacks against Palestinians and their property.
Settlers Burn Two Vehicles and a Tent in Al-Mughayyir
Settlers set fire to two vehicles and a tent early Tuesday, attempted to burn a house and spray-painted racist slogans on Palestinian homes in the village of Al-Mughayyir northeast of Ramallah. Israeli forces also arrested two children during a raid on the village.
Marzouk Abu Naim, deputy head of the Al-Mughayyir village council, said settlers attacked the village and set fire to two vehicles, one belonging to Jihad Al-Nassan and the other to Mousa Mohammad Abu Alia.
He added that the settlers also burned a tent belonging to Abu Alia and painted racist slogans on the homes of his sons, while preventing Palestinians from reaching the area and extinguishing the fires.
Abu Naim said Israeli forces arrested two 16-year-old boys, Moataz Haitham Abu Naim and Khaled Aref Abu Alia, during the raid on the village.
Al-Mughayyir has faced continuing attacks by settlers, along with repeated Israeli military raids. The latest incidents have included attacks targeting residents, homes, vehicles and property.
