National boxing team athlete Ziad Ashish secured a medal today, after qualifying for the semi-final round of the 70kg competition, at the Asian Games held in the Japanese city of Nagoya.

Ziad Ashish achieved his second consecutive win in the Games' competitions, coming at the expense of Tajikistan's Shamshir Saidov, in the quarter-final round.
Ashish had opened his Games campaign with a win in the round of 16 over Palestinian athlete Mohammad Issa.
This is the second medal Ziad Ashish has achieved at the Asian Games, having previously won the bronze medal at the 18th edition, hosted by the Indonesian capital Jakarta in 2018.
In the semi-final round, the day after tomorrow, Wednesday, Ziad Ashish will face Japan's Okazawa, who in turn beat Kyrgyzstan's Ikhtiyor Nishonov.
This is the second medal secured by the national boxing team at the Nagoya Asian Games, after Hussein Ashish, who qualified yesterday for the semi-final round, and will face South Korea's Kim Min-sung tomorrow, Tuesday.
For his part, national team athlete Hudaifa Ashish bid farewell to the 55kg competition, after losing in the quarter-final round to Japan's Ryo Yamaguchi.
Hudaifa Ashish had achieved two wins during his participation in the Games, over Laos's Vanixay Vongthisouane, and Chinese Taipei's Peng Chia-Feng.
