The Jordan Football Association (JFA) Board of Directors, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, accepted the resignation of Secretary-General Samar Nassar, expressing its appreciation for her efforts during her tenure and her contributions to serving and developing Jordanian football, as well as the achievements made across various areas.

The board, meanwhile, appointed Farah Al-Badarneh to serve as acting secretary-general of the association, a move aimed at ensuring institutional continuity and continuing to implement the JFA’s strategic plans and programs in line with its approved objectives.
Al-Badarneh has more than 15 years of experience in sports administration and governance, business development, and the organization of international tournaments. She joined the Jordan Football Association in 2011 and has held several administrative positions, including Director of Business Development, in addition to serving as Director of International Relations at the West Asian Football Federation.
Al-Badarneh previously managed the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup – Jordan 2016, and served as CEO of the Local Organizing Committee for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup – Jordan 2018. She was also a member of the Asian Football Confederation’s Women’s Football Committee.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Jordan, which she earned in 2010. She also has previous experience as a player for the Jordan women’s national football team, combining on-field experience with administrative and organizational expertise within the football system.
According to the Jordan Football Association’s records, Al-Badarneh played 25 officially recognized international matches recorded by FIFA, scoring one goal. She started 22 of those matches and came on as a substitute in three. The national team recorded 13 wins, four draws, and eight defeats in the matches in which she played.
Al-Badarneh represented the national team in several competitions, including the AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers. She was part of Jordan’s lineup against the Maldives in 2009, a match that ended in a 9-0 victory for Jordan. She was also included in the national team squad for the 2010 Asian Games, where Jordan faced China.
After retiring from playing, Al-Badarneh moved into administrative work with the Jordan Football Association, taking on roles related to projects and business development. She later played a prominent role in preparations for Jordan’s hosting of the 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, managing the tournament and presenting a briefing to the association’s executive committee on preparations and organizational requirements.
In 2021, Al-Badarneh returned to the Jordan Football Association as Director of Projects, drawing on her experience in project management, investment, and sports organization.
She also continued working on football development and international relations. In 2026, she appeared in her capacity as Director of International Relations at the Jordan Football Association during several meetings and events related to the association’s work.
Farah Al-Badarneh’s career reflects a transition from playing football on the field to administrative and organizational work, encompassing local, continental, and international experience in tournament management, business development, and sports governance, culminating in her appointment as acting secretary-general of the Jordan Football Association.
