A recent scientific study has revealed that regular coffee consumption may be a key factor in maintaining vitality and protecting the body from frailty as we age.

According to research published in the European Journal of Nutrition, drinking four to six cups of coffee per day is associated with a significant reduction in the risk of frailty.
The seven-year study followed more than 1,100 participants aged 55 and older, assessing their health using a comprehensive model focused on five major indicators of frailty: chronic fatigue, slow walking speed, muscle weakness, low physical activity, and unintended weight loss.
The results showed notable improvement in these indicators among participants who regularly consumed two to four cups of coffee daily. Researchers attributed these benefits to caffeine’s positive effects in reducing fatigue, enhancing alertness, and improving muscle efficiency.
Experts recommend that coffee enthusiasts choose high-quality organic beans rich in antioxidants, while emphasizing not to exceed the maximum safe daily caffeine intake of 400 milligrams—roughly equivalent to four to five cups of coffee.
However, health specialists warn that excessive coffee consumption can lead to side effects such as high blood pressure, increased heart rate, anxiety, nausea, headaches, and sleep disturbances.
Doctors stress that coffee should serve as a supportive tool, not a substitute for regular physical activity and a balanced diet rich in proteins, antioxidants, and fermented foods that promote gut and immune health.
The study offers a fresh perspective on the role coffee can play in maintaining vitality and resilience with age, underscoring the importance of moderation and dietary balance.
