Raed Al-Nams, spokesperson for the Palestine Red Crescent, said that the fourth batch of humanitarian cases—comprising patients, wounded, and injured individuals—was prepared at the association and departed toward the Rafah land crossing for travel.
On Wednesday, Israeli occupation authorities had prevented patients and wounded individuals from traveling through the Rafah crossing, after notifying the World Health Organization’s office of the cancellation of coordination for the departure of the third batch, which had been scheduled to leave for medical treatment.
Since its reopening on Monday, only 50 patients and injured individuals—including their companions—have been able to leave through the Rafah crossing. On the first day, 7 patients and their companions departed, followed by 16 others with their companions on the second day, despite approximately 18,500 patients and wounded individuals being in need of treatment abroad.
