Foreign tourism began a gradual recovery in 2022 and 2023, with 683,798 visitors in 2022 and 985,696 in 2023. However, numbers dropped sharply in 2024 to 257,284 foreign visitors—a decline of 74%—as a result of regional developments.

The data showed that October recorded the highest number of visitors in 2025, with 81,069 visitors, while December saw a notable improvement with 53,383 visitors—an increase of 95% compared to the same month in 2024.

These indicators reflect a gradual return of confidence in Petra as a global tourist destination and the beginning of a recovery in tourism activity, supported by the resumption of various airline routes to the region, particularly low-cost carriers.
