Despite AI Talent Loss, Apple Prepares Two New Versions of Siri
Apple is moving forward with plans to release two new versions of its voice assistant, Siri, this year, despite recently losing at least four AI researchers and a senior executive from the Siri team.اضافة اعلان

The first version will be a short-term update, leveraging personal data to respond to user queries more accurately.

The second version will be a more ambitious redesign, scheduled for later this year, featuring a chatbot-style interface, according to Bloomberg. Both versions will rely on a new architecture supported by models developed in collaboration with Google.

Over the past six months, Apple has lost more than 12 AI researchers, with many departures linked to the company’s decision to outsource some of its AI technologies.

When asked about using Google’s technology, CEO Tim Cook said it provides “the most efficient foundation” for Apple’s AI models. He added that this collaboration will allow Apple to innovate and run experiments more effectively.

Apple will continue to rely on its proprietary AI capabilities, branded as “Apple Intelligence,” for device-specific features. The company does not plan to depend on external partners indefinitely, given the competitive AI landscape and the need to offer a unique user experience.

Previously, Apple postponed the release of its more advanced Siri version, initially unveiled in 2024, due to technical challenges. That version was expected to include contextual understanding, on-screen awareness, deeper in-app controls, and other advanced capabilities.
