U.S. President Donald Trump said in a statement early Wednesday, “I agree to halt the bombing of Iran and launching attacks against it for two weeks.”

Trump indicated that “there will be a ceasefire from both sides,” while Iranian state television reported that the U.S. president had agreed to Iran’s conditions to end the war.

Iranian television confirmed acceptance of Iran’s uranium enrichment within the ten proposed points to end the war.

A U.S. official stated that “all military operations against Iran have been halted.”

CNN, citing a senior White House official, reported that Israel agreed to suspend its air campaign against Iran during the negotiations.

The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted security sources as saying that “the ceasefire also includes Lebanon.”

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that “Iran and the United States have agreed to an immediate ceasefire in all areas, including Lebanon.”

Sharif invited the U.S. and Iranian delegations to Islamabad on Friday to continue negotiations, stating that both sides showed wisdom and understanding and engaged constructively in efforts to promote stability, expressing hope that the Islamabad talks would achieve lasting peace.

Trump added that the United States had received a ten-point proposal from Iran and considers it a viable basis for negotiations. He noted that the two-week period would allow for completing and finalizing the agreement.

He stated, “Nearly all previous points of contention between the United States and Iran have been agreed upon… The United States has achieved and exceeded all its military objectives with Iran.”

He added, “We received a ten-point Iranian proposal that we consider a solid foundation for negotiations to resolve previous disputes.”

He said, “The next two weeks will allow the agreement to be finalized… It is an honor for me as President of the United States to reach the brink of a final solution to Iran’s longstanding crisis.”

Trump confirmed that the ceasefire is conditional upon Iran agreeing to the full, immediate, and safe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

He added, “I represent in these negotiations the interests of both the United States and the countries of the Middle East.”

Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that “a two-week ceasefire has been reached between Iran and the American-Zionist enemy under specific conditions.”

Tasnim added that more detailed information about the ceasefire would be announced by Iran.

In the same context, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council announced that negotiations would be held in Islamabad to finalize the details of ending the war.

The council stated, “We achieved a great victory and forced the United States to accept our ten-point proposal.”

It explained that the agreement includes passage through the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with Iranian forces.

It also stated that the agreement stipulates ending the war against all elements of the resistance axis, the withdrawal of U.S. forces from all bases in the region, and the payment of full compensation to Iran.

The council added that the agreement includes lifting all sanctions and releasing frozen Iranian assets abroad.

It confirmed that negotiations would begin on Friday in Islamabad amid complete distrust of the U.S. side.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz would be possible for two weeks through coordination with Iranian armed forces.

President Trump shared Araghchi’s statement on Truth Social.

Axios, citing a White House official, reported that the ceasefire would take effect once Iran reopens the Strait of Hormuz.

Axios also reported, citing two sources, that the first round of talks to finalize a war-ending agreement will be held in Islamabad on Friday.

According to Axios sources, the meeting in Pakistan will be the first face-to-face negotiations between Americans and Iranians since the beginning of the war. – (Agencies)
