Iranian state TV reported via the Telegram app that “the Ras Laffan refinery in Qatar was hit again by a missile and is burning.”

Earlier, Qatar’s Ministry of Defense announced that a missile strike targeted Ras Laffan Industrial City, causing damage.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened to destroy Iran’s South Pars Gas Field if Iran carries out further attacks on Qatari liquefied natural gas facilities.

Trump said on his platform Truth Social that Israel had struck the South Pars field, adding that the United States “knew nothing” about the attack, which he said prompted Iran to launch strikes on gas facilities in Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar.

He added: “Israel will not carry out further attacks on the very important and valuable South Pars field unless Iran recklessly decides to attack an innocent country, in this case Qatar (…) and if that happens, the United States, with or without Israel, will blow up the entire South Pars gas field with a force Iran has never seen before.”

State-owned QatarEnergy announced that new missile attacks on Thursday targeted key gas facilities, causing significant damage.

In a statement, the company said several LNG facilities were hit early Thursday morning, leading to fires and further major damage. Emergency response teams were immediately deployed to contain the situation, and no injuries were reported.

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior confirmed that civil defense teams had fully controlled two out of three fire sites in Ras Laffan Industrial City, with no casualties recorded. It added that the explosives unit of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) is handling any hazardous remnants.

Authorities in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia said oil and gas facilities were also targeted on Wednesday, after Iran announced it would respond to an Israeli strike on its main gas field.

The war involving Iran has entered its 20th day, having begun on February 28, 2026, following large-scale U.S. and Israeli airstrikes targeting key facilities, military sites, and command centers in Tehran and other cities.

In response, Iran launched “Operation True Promise 4,” firing hundreds of missiles and drones toward Israel and countries in the region, and closing the Strait of Hormuz, leading to a surge in global energy prices.

The conflict expanded to Lebanon on March 2, after Hezbollah launched rockets toward Israel, prompting Israeli airstrikes and a ground incursion in southern Lebanon.
