Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that his country requires 5% of the United States' stockpile of Patriot interceptor missiles to make it through the upcoming winter, and 10% to eliminate all Russian ballistic missile threats.

In one recent attack, Ukraine failed to intercept any of the 28 missiles launched by Russia.
Zelensky noted in an interview with CNN published Thursday that Ukraine's stockpile of interceptor missiles for this year has dropped two-and-a-half times compared to the same period in 2025.
"Russia now has twice as many ballistic missiles per month as it used to," Zelensky added, urging "American partners" to "sell us 5% of the missiles in their stockpiles."
He continued: "If they sell us 5%, we will be able to get through the winter and save lives. If they can sell us 10%, we will be able to destroy all Russian ballistic missiles."
It is worth noting that Russia has escalated its targeting of naval facilities in Ukraine over recent weeks, particularly in the south. Meanwhile, Kyiv has increasingly relied on surprise drone attacks, which have successfully reached and damaged Russian oil facilities on numerous occasions.
