In a statement, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense confirmed that an F-16 fighter jet crashed during a routine training flight in Yalova. The pilot successfully ejected via parachute prior to an explosion and survived, according to Turkish daily Hürriyet.

"An F-16 aircraft crashed during a training flight in Yalova Province. Our pilot ejected safely using a parachute. The cause of the crash will be determined following a detailed investigation," the Ministry of National Defense stated.

The training jet plunged into the sea, triggering a powerful explosion upon impact. Dense black smoke from the crash site was visible from several locations, while the cause of the incident remains unknown.

Multiple ambulances and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Relevant authorities are expected to release further details as the investigation unfolds.
