The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that "air defense systems intercepted and downed 456 Ukrainian drones overnight," noting that the attacks targeted around 15 Russian regions, in addition to the Russian-annexed Crimean Peninsula.

In the Republic of Tatarstan in central Russia, "large-scale" strikes targeted the industrial city of Nizhnekamsk, located about 1,600 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, according to a statement issued by regional authorities.

The statement noted that the attack, which was still ongoing at 05:30 GMT, "targeted industrial and civilian sites, regrettably causing fatalities."

Meanwhile, authorities in the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine reported the death of a woman in a drone attack targeting a house in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka.

More than four years after the start of Russia's full-scale offensive against Ukraine, diplomatic efforts to end the conflict remain stalled, while both countries intensify their long-range strikes, leading to an increasing number of civilian casualties.
