"During the past night, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 635 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles," the ministry reported via Telegram, listing more than ten regions where the drones were flying over.

Earlier, Roman Busargin, the Governor of the Saratov region, announced the deaths of two people in his region following a Ukrainian drone strike.

"As a result of an attack by enemy drones, two people were killed. I offer my condolences to the family and relatives, and they will receive all necessary assistance," Busargin wrote on Telegram, without providing further details.

As Moscow intensifies its strikes on Ukraine, Kyiv has escalated its attacks on civil targets in Russia and occupied Ukrainian territories, specifically targeting oil refineries, fuel storage facilities, warehouses belonging to the e-commerce giant Wildberries, and cargo ships in the sea in recent weeks.

On Saturday, 10 people were killed in Ukraine in an overnight Russian attack targeting Kyiv and its surrounding areas.

This escalation in mutual strikes comes as Ukraine suffers from a shortage of air defense systems to counter intensifying Russian bombardment—a crisis exacerbated by the war launched by the United States and Israel on Iran on February 28.
