Three Palestinians were injured by Israeli occupation gunfire in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, amid US pressure on Israel to begin a two-week ceasefire in the enclave.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the Palestinians were wounded when occupation forces opened fire on a group of people north of Khan Younis.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation military vehicles continue to fire east of Salah al-Din Street, around the Wadi Gaza bridge in the central Gaza Strip.
On Friday, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) reported that the United States is pressing Israel to initiate a two-week ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, despite opposition from ministers within the Israeli government.
The corporation cited informed political sources stating that "Washington is exerting pressure on Israel to start a two-week ceasefire in the Gaza Strip with the aim of launching a plan to disarm Hamas," according to the statement.
This comes at a time when the Israeli government insists on the condition of fully disarming Hamas prior to executing any withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, even though the roadmap announced by the Peace Council on July 31—which Hamas agreed to—stipulates that the Israeli withdrawal and disarmament be carried out gradually and in parallel.
