During a joint press conference with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Cain, Hegseth explained that the primary objectives of the military operations include destroying Iran’s missile arsenal, its defense industrial base, and its naval forces. He emphasized that the United States is "prevailing over Iran through aerial dominance and in execution of the President’s decisions."
Strategic Assessments
Hegseth described Iran as "standing alone and losing heavily," adding that the regime is "desperate and reeling." He further accused Tehran of launching missiles from schools and hospitals.
The Secretary reiterated that the U.S. mission is to "resolutely prevent" Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, asserting that the Iranians were "racing against time to obtain a nuclear bomb and take the world hostage."
Operational Progress
General Dan Cain confirmed that U.S. forces are focusing on dismantling Iran’s missiles, drones, naval assets, and industrial base. He noted that "significant progress" has been made in degrading Iran’s missile capabilities.
