The Wall Street Journal quoted U.S. officials on Thursday stating that the United States has established "red lines" in its negotiations with Iran.

According to the officials, Washington’s conditions include the dismantling of Iranian nuclear facilities, a 20-year freeze on the enrichment process, and the handover of all enriched nuclear materials. They added that Iran must gradually reopen the Strait of Hormuz in conjunction with Washington easing its blockade.
The officials noted that the lifting of most sanctions is contingent upon Iran's commitment to implementing the terms of the agreement, rather than merely signing it.
On Wednesday evening, U.S. President Donald Trump predicted a swift end to the war with Iran, as he seeks a deal to break the deadlock over the Strait of Hormuz and Tehran's nuclear program.
During an event supporting Georgia’s Republican gubernatorial candidate Burt Jones, Trump said: "When you look at what’s happening, we’re doing it for a very important reason: we cannot allow them to have a nuclear weapon. I think most people realize that. They realize that what we’re doing is right, and it’s going to be over quickly."
Trump considered reaching a deal with Iran to end the war in the Middle East "very possible," but did not rule out the resumption of strikes, while Iran’s chief negotiator accused Washington of trying to force Tehran into "surrender."
"We’ve had very good talks over the last few hours, and it’s very possible that we’ll reach an agreement," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: "Assuming Iran agrees to what has been agreed, and that’s a big assumption, the already legendary Operation Epic Fury would be at an end."
However, he simultaneously warned: "If they don't agree, the bombing will begin and, unfortunately, it will be at a much higher and more intense level than it has ever been before."
