The private news agencies, DHA and IHA, quoted security sources stating that the suspect was killed in Sazagasi, located 80 kilometers from Ankara.

The Ankara Governor's Office and the city's Public Prosecutor's Office did not release any immediate statements in response to inquiries by Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Turkey is intensifying its security measures in preparation for the NATO summit, which is scheduled to take place in the capital on July 7 and 8.

The Ankara Security Directorate stated in a declaration on Wednesday that these measures are being executed under a specialized security plan named "Operation Turquoise." This operation includes tightening control over the city's entry and exit points and intensifying inspections across 9 districts.

Under the framework of this plan, specialized security units have been deployed to designated areas, implementing a 24-hour surveillance system for suspicious individuals and vehicles.

The measures also entail inspecting hotels and facilities expected to host delegations and visitors participating in the summit, alongside taking enforcement actions against panhandlers, illegal brokers, and scammers.

The statement added that these security operations are being carried out with the participation of special operations forces, motorcycle police, anti-narcotics units, and plainclothes security teams.
