Iran Warns of Strikes on US Bases in Europe
Iran said Monday it would target U.S. military bases in European countries if those states participate in any military action against Tehran, warning of consequences if they allow their territory or airspace to be used by U.S. forces to launch attacks on Iran.اضافة اعلان

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said in remarks to reporters that “Iran’s strength and the resilience of its people are the shield of the Islamic Republic,” adding that Tehran had managed to thwart what he described as enemy plans.

Baghaei said Iran would strike U.S. bases in European countries if those states became involved in what he called aggression against Iran. He added that Tehran had no reason to consider any country a threat unless it allowed the United States to use its territory or airspace to launch attacks on Iran.

He said Iran did not start the war and had been exercising what he described as its legitimate right to self-defense, stressing that Tehran would not allow the conflict to end on terms set by what he called the aggressor.

The statements come amid increasingly strong Iranian rhetoric over the country’s military capabilities and sovereignty over regional waterways, with Iranian officials reiterating their commitment to developing its defense and missile systems.

The United States and Iran remain at odds over the Strait of Hormuz and the conditions for ending the conflict. The future of their negotiations also remains unclear following the expiration last Monday of a 60-day negotiating period established under a memorandum of understanding between the two sides.
