Deputy to His Majesty the King, Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, on Monday attended a religious ceremony held at Al Husseiniya Palace to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which falls on Tuesday, the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal 1448 AH.
The ceremony featured recitations from the Holy Quran, including Al-Fatiha, Ayat Al-Kursi, and verses addressing the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Surahs Al Imran, At-Tawbah, Al-Anbiya, Al-Ahzab, Ya-Sin and Al-Fath, as well as Surahs Ad-Duha, Ash-Sharh, Al-Kawthar, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas. Traditional Prophetic supplications were also recited.
The ceremony also included the recitation of verses from Al-Burda, the renowned poem by Imam Sharaf al-Din Al-Busiri, one of the most celebrated works of praise for the Prophet in Arabic and Islamic literature.
The event was attended by several members of the Royal Family, heads of authorities, senior officials, Muslim scholars and Christian clergy.
