Norway Plans to Support Ukraine with Over $9 Billion
The Norwegian government revealed on Sunday its plan to provide additional support to Ukraine worth 85 billion Norwegian kroner (approximately $9.2 billion) during the 2027 fiscal year, a move reflecting Oslo's continued extensive backing of Kyiv amidst the war with Russia.اضافة اعلان

The proposed amount equals the volume of support Norway allocated to Ukraine during 2026.

This funding falls under the "Nansen Support Programme for Ukraine," Norway's long-term framework for supporting Kyiv, which encompasses military, civilian, and humanitarian assistance.

Norway has raised the program's total financial framework to approximately 274.5 billion kroner for the period from 2023 to 2030.

Norway had allocated 85 billion kroner to Ukraine in 2026, comprising military and civilian funding, with a portion of the aid directed toward vital domestic sectors. Norwegian data indicates that 15 billion kroner of the 2026 allocation went to civilian support.

On Saturday, Germany announced through its Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, during a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, in Kyiv, that it would provide an additional €50 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine. This is alongside allocating an extra €10 million to NATO's Comprehensive Assistance Package to support the country's winter preparations, plus €3 million to support Ukrainian veterans.

The Norwegian announcement comes as European nations continue to bolster their support for Ukraine, particularly given the ongoing Russian military operations and the need to fund defense and essential services, alongside diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching a settlement to the war.
