In press statements reported by the official Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform, Zelensky explained that Ukrainian estimates indicate Russia's intention to draft 300,000 additional soldiers during the current year, specifically following the Russian parliamentary elections scheduled for next September.

The Ukrainian president pointed to the possibility of Moscow mobilizing hundreds of thousands more by 2027, in a military effort primarily aimed at securing full control over the remainder of the Donetsk region in the eastern part of the country.

He affirmed that Kyiv requested 360 interceptor missiles for Patriot systems to secure the country during the winter, revealing a delivery timeline for Western arms packages that includes receiving 264 PAC-2 and PAC-3 interceptor missiles during the current year, 2026.

Furthermore, he announced reaching a strategic agreement with Germany to supply 600 additional interceptor missiles for the Patriot system during 2027 and 2028, noting France's commitment to providing at least one SAMP/T air defense system this year.

On the ground, the Ukrainian president announced the success of Ukrainian forces in carrying out a precision operation that resulted in the destruction of a Russian Iskander missile launcher near the border.

Zelensky explained that tracking and targeting launchers represents an alternative military tactic developed by Kyiv to counter Russian ballistic strikes amidst the limited supply of available interceptor missiles, praising the high efficiency of Ukrainian soldiers in tracking and destroying enemy systems.
