Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed that his country and North Korea are working together to establish a new world order based on multipolarity, true equality, and respect for national interests.

In a congratulatory cable sent to his North Korean counterpart, Choe Son-hui, on the anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese rule, Lavrov said: "Today, Moscow and Pyongyang stand on a united front for the creation of a new, just world order based on the principles of multipolarity, true equality, and respect for the national interests of states," according to Russian media reports.
He emphasized that both countries intend to maintain the course defined by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, aimed at comprehensively deepening Russian-North Korean cooperation for the benefit of both nations and contributing to regional and international security.
