Following the round of talks concluded in Switzerland under the mediation of Qatar and Pakistan, President Pezeshkian stressed that statements drifting outside the agreed-upon text do not serve the progress of the negotiations.
Writing on the "X" platform, he stated: "Progress along this path will be measured by practical commitment to accepted responsibilities," considering that the viability of any negotiation is linked to the precise execution of agreed obligations.
Regarding the outcomes, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi announced the formation of four specialized working groups covering the files of sanctions lifting, nuclear affairs, reconstruction, and monitoring and implementation.
In a related context, Press TV reported that Washington issued a general license authorizing the sale of Iranian oil and petrochemical products, publishing it on the official website of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), coinciding with the announced release of $12 billion in frozen Iranian assets.
In parallel, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf reaffirmed his country's support for efforts aimed at establishing Lebanon's sovereignty over its entire territory, emphasizing that the ongoing consultations aim to ensure the extension of this sovereignty and that this goal will not be abandoned before reaching a final settlement that preserves Lebanon's integrity and unity.
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump stated that he "will do what he has to do" if Iran fails to comply with the agreement, refusing to use the word "fear" toward the Iranians because, as he put it, "they respect them."
For his part, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that during the Switzerland talks, Iran committed to allowing free and open passage through the Strait of Hormuz, and to allowing International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors entry into the country.
However, Iranian sources were quick on Monday to deny the accuracy of statements made by US Vice President JD Vance regarding the return of IAEA inspectors to Iran, amid a clear discrepancy between the two narratives over what was actually achieved on the ground.
