In a related context, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated today that three Chinese vessels recently transited the Strait of Hormuz, adding that Beijing appreciates the assistance provided by the relevant parties.
The Middle East is currently experiencing severe tension following a series of strikes launched by the United States and Israel since February 28 against targets in Iran, including the capital, Tehran. These strikes have resulted in significant damage, civilian casualties, and the assassination of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, along with several commanders of the Revolutionary Guard and the Army.
In response, Iran launched missile strikes against Israeli territory and U.S. military facilities in the Middle East—specifically in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia—vowing an "unprecedented response."
