While US President Donald Trump announced on Friday the lifting of the naval blockade imposed on Iran, Iranian media outlets quoted sources and mariners confirming that the blockade remains in effect, and that the US Central Command (CENTCOM) is warning Iranian ships to halt and preventing their transit.
The Tasnim International News Agency had previously reported, citing Iranian sources and sailors, that the US naval blockade imposed on Iran remains active and ongoing, despite recent political announcements.
The agency noted that following President Donald Trump's announcement on Friday regarding the lifting of the naval blockade, Iranian vessels did attempt to cross the blockade line but faced a direct US military warning.
According to the same sources, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) issued ultimatums to the Iranian ships to stop and categorically barred them from crossing, confirming the continuation of the operational restrictions imposed at sea.
