In a statement, the Israeli army spokesperson said: “In light of the Hezbollah terrorist organization’s violation of the ceasefire agreement, the Israel Defense Forces are compelled to act forcefully against it.”

The statement, accompanied by maps highlighting several buildings in red, added: “You are located near buildings used by the Hezbollah terrorist organization. For your safety, you must evacuate immediately and move north of the Zahrani River.”

The military also announced Thursday the death of a female soldier who was killed Wednesday in a Hezbollah drone attack near the Lebanese border, raising the number of Israeli soldiers killed since early March to 24.

In a brief statement, the army said: “Sergeant Rotem Yanai, 20, was killed during a military operation in northern Israel.”

Later, the army said in another statement on Telegram that it had begun “striking Hezbollah infrastructure in the Tyre area.”

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported two waves of Israeli airstrikes on the city of Tyre and areas east of it Thursday morning, noting that one strike targeted a building and caused a fire to break out.
