Work to begin on Bus Rapid Transit section near Istiklal Street Thursday

AMMAN — The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) said that construction will begin Thursday evening on the Al-Mahatta bridge section of the Bus Rapid Transit Project, which is between Istiklal Street and the Al-Mahatta complex.اضافة اعلان

Muhammad Al-Faouri, director of Traffic Operations Department at GAM, said on Wednesday that construction on the link will mean that traffic on Al-Jaish Street will have to be slightly rerouted.

The Northern Al-Hashmi Tunnel will have to be closed and traffic from Prince Rashid Street heading towards downtown rerouted.

GAM said that they would provide warning and detour signs at closure sites.
